This lego truck is a lego build that I built ages ago but unfortunately when I built it I missed out two cogs (one for the steering and one for moving the arm up and down). Since then it has been bugging me that I hadn't finished it. So I decided to fix it.
Replacing the first cog (the steering) went pretty smoothly as it was near the surface of the build, the only hard bit was remembering how to put it back together. Replacing the second cog (the arm up and down) was much harder as it was buried so deep into the build, I would have to take the truck apart completely. I was about to give up when I had the idea of cutting a slit into the cog so I could just slip it over the axle from the side. Then when it was on I glued it so that it was stronger. The glue also acted as a tooth since I lost one when cutting it.
I am very pleased of what I did and now I can say that I have completed the model, even though it was a bit of a "dirty engineering" bodge. I also replaced the fake 4 cylinder straight engine to a fake v8 engine. In addition to that I added lights with a working switch.
